# What You'll Need:

05 - 2 to 3 tbsp granulated sugar, to taste

06 - 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
07 - 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
08 - 1/8 tsp ground cayenne pepper (optional)
09 - 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

→ Topping

10 - 1 cup mini marshmallows

# Directions:

01 - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and heavy cream. Warm until steaming but do not bring to a boil.
02 - Add chopped dark chocolate and cocoa powder to the warmed milk mixture. Whisk continuously until the chocolate is fully melted and the beverage is smooth.
03 - Stir in granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne pepper if using, and vanilla extract. Continue whisking until all ingredients are evenly combined and the liquid is velvety.
04 - Taste the hot chocolate and adjust sweetness or spice levels as desired.
05 - Pour the hot chocolate into serving mugs and generously top with mini marshmallows.
